Action pour les Droits Humains au Niger/Human Right Action in Niger
Human Rights Action in Niger is a non-governmental organization that specializes in mechanisms of dialogue and conflict prevention. It raises awareness and conduct advocacy on issues of violent extremism and radicalization. The organization promotes human rights, rule of law, and good governance.
Réseau Nigérien des ONG de Développement et Associations de Défense des Droits de l’Homme et de la Démocratie (RODADDHD)
RODADDHD is one of the first networks in Niger that invested in the field of development, particularly in the protection and promotion of human rights and democracy. In Niger and in the sub-region, the organization is involved in several actions in the field of sustainable development, and part of several sub-regional and international networks, including FOSCAO and REPAOC.
RODADDHD works with ex-Tuareg rebel fighters through the AZAGOR forums in the Maradi region, and is also a member of the National Commission for Reconciliation and Peace in Niger.
Université de Diffa
Université de Diffa works in the Diffa region of Niger with partnerships with the University of Maiduguri in Nigeria, and other Universities in Burkina Faso and Benin Republic. The institution organizes international conferences and conduct research on conflict prevention and de-radicalization.
Community Coalition for Peace and the Promotion of Living Together (COPAVE)
COPAVE is a nonprofit organization initiated by a group of persons that want to see a society that is safe, fair and just at all levels, and especially for the vulnerable, frustrated and marginalized communities living in trauma due to conflict.
The organization focuses in the process of reintegration and rehabilitation, addressing group stigmatization, community full involvement in the prevention and countering of violent extremism and radicalization. COPAVE also strengthens interactions between government and communities while supporting communities to form strong coalitions to support local initiatives around the prevention of violent extremsim.
Chad
Organization of Non-State Actors of Chad (OANET)
The Organization of Non-State Actors of Chad (OANET) is an umbrella organization of Civil Society governed by Decree No. 27 / INT-SUR of July 28, 1962. It is an exclusive group of civil society and non-religious associations, non-political and non-profit private sector representative platforms. OANET is a network of 17 platforms, consisting of 7,256 grassroots organizations.
OANET is the Focal Point organization of the Conflict Prevention and Management Platform in Central Africa (PREGESCO), Member of the National Governance Commission of the APRM, Signatory of the pact, as a representative of civil society organizations, the Comprehensive Agriculture Development Program in Africa (PDDA), and Focal Point of the Civil Society Platform for Peacebuilding and Statebuilding (CSPPS) – a constituency of the International Dialogue for Peacebuilding and Statebuilding (IDPS). OANET engages in research on the role of young people in preventing violent extremism.
Association Tchadienne des Cultures Mixtes (ATCUM)
The association is non-profit, secular and apolitical. It promotes culture through digital tools, and innovations through the participation of young people and the most vulnerable in society. ATCUM addresses as much as possible issues related to human rights, mother and child rights, and promotes a culture of peace and tolerance through media content.
ATCUM is launching a short movie on preventing violent extremism in 2018 that will be premiered in Ndjamena and other parts of Chad.
Cameroon
Local Action for Participatory and Self-managed Development (ALDEPA)
ALDEPA is a Cameroonian civil society organization created in 1998 and legalized on November 4, 2002 as a Cameroon non-profit association and approved with the status of NGO on May 10, 2017. The aim of ALDEPA is to contribute to the construction of a fair and equitable society with the responsible participation of the population. ALDEPA’s mission is to promote endogenous initiatives and dynamics that contribute to the participatory, equitable and sustainable development of target groups.
Since the humanitarian crisis in the Far North region, ALDEPA has been active in supporting and caring for Nigerian refugees from Minawao camp and internally displaced persons. ALDEPA also intervenes for the application of juvenile justice, particularly with regards to respect for the procedures and psychological care of children and women suspected of being associated with armed groups, as well as their reintegration.
Association Rayons De Soleil
Rayons de Soleil (rays of sunshine) is a young ladies organization founded in 2006 with the aim to protect and promote girls and women’s rights. The strategies include but are not limited to raising awareness campaign, training, communication, publishing, documentary and film production, and advocacy. For the past 11 years, Rayons de Soleil has successfully engaged Cameroonian youths against violent extremism and radicalisation in the far north region.
Mouvement Pour la Defense de l Humanite et l Abolition de la Torture (MDHAT)
The Movement for the Defense of Humanity and the Abolition of Torture (MDHAT) is a human rights organization, working within the framework of medical and psychological rehabilitation of victims of torture and war survivors, minorities, prevention of child abuse and prevention of violent extremism.
MDHAT sensitizes young people in schools on the dangers of violent extremism in the Eastern and Western regions of Cameroon. The organization also provides psycho-social care and reintegration to victims of violence and internally displaced persons.
